Our people are this Life Company, experiencing it every day and contributing directly to the transformation of society by constantly making decisions that will enable the achievement of the ambitious goals of the sustainability of society by 2030. In this sense, diversity and inclusion are not abstract terms but are an integral part of the company’s daily life and pivotal elements in our business plan.
We foresee, in fact, 6,000 direct hirings, generating indirect employment amounting to around 30,000 FTE a year, and a new operational model designed to simplify procedures and to increasingly harness people’s potential.
One of our goals is to increase to 30% the total number of women in managerial positions and to 40% in the sphere of boards of directors.
We want to extend to all employees the assignment of formalized objectives, in collaboration with trade unions.
We focus great attention on the psycho-physical well-being of employees, not only reducing the number of workplace accidents but also involving all staff members in initiatives for the promotion of good health.
We want to include everybody with a disability in individual development projects.
The new operational model foresees significant simplification through a reduction in the number of Business Units from 5 to 3: the Generation and Trading BUs merge into the new Energy Business Unit; the Overseas Business Unit has been absorbed into the other Business Units within a domestic market logic that is no longer Italian but European.
In order to enable an acceleration of growth, decentralization is crucial: the levers of business development and operational efficiency will be moved to a BU level.
The digitalization of working activities and the definition of specific pathways for the development of key skills will make a substantial contribution in the creation of a new operational model.
The A2A of the future will, then, be a simplified company, with a lighter corporate structure and real accountability for development in the hands of the BUs, and where the skills and potential of employees will be further exploited.
The Risk Assessment process is overseen, at the group level, by Procedure 201.0065 MANAGEMENT OF RISK ASSESSMENT AND UPDATES, which covers the methodology and its application supported by the ARIAL software (Environment and Labour Risk Application - it is the HSE application used to manage environmental, health and safety aspects). The tool allows for the creation of customised risk assessment documents in a simple and guided way, structured in such a way as to make clear the initial and residual levels of risk following the application of mitigation measures, and with a clear and traceable approval process; the system also allows for the management of PPE, improvement actions, safety training and health surveillance, as well as for the management of chemicals and controls on safety-critical equipment.
The methodology allows for risk assessment pursuant to Legislative Decree 81/08 to be carried out in a structured ways through the following 7 phases:
Emergency management is presided over at the group level by Guideline 001.0037 EMERGENCY PREPARATION AND RESPONSE, which defines the guidelines for the preparation of the Emergency Plan, which must contain the methods of emergency preparedness and response, taking into account the relevant events, the organisation for the management of emergency situations, the information/training/education of workers, visitors and emergency workers. An organisation for handling emergency situations is defined for each site/facility and a written Emergency Plan is prepared.
