Together with schools, making our way towards sustainability
As a Life Company, we have a formidable task, that of seeking responsibly to create a culture which has, at its core, the quality of life of all of us and of our Planet. We want to share our commitment, starting from the new generations, through educational and training schemes.
The project
The project
We at A2A are a Life Company: every day, in fact, we take care of the Planet and the people who inhabit it, operating in the spheres of energy, water and the environment – the conditions strictly necessary for life – and using technologies that enable us to enhance everybody’s future.
This is our mission: guiding change and playing a leading role in our country’s growth, developing a culture based on sustainability. We started to put this into practice more than 40 years ago with our first investments in communication with the new generations.
The A2A for schools portal is our channel for dialogue with Italy’s students and teachers. By listening to their needs and requirements, we have been able to develop educational resources on the themes of energy production and the energy transition, the circular economy and the environment, the water cycle and the responsible consumption of resources.
Education outside the classroom
Active education outside the classroom: educational visits
Environmental education cannot remain within the confines of the classroom; young people need to know what is happening outside it and to come into contact with the context in which they live, in a logic of community and of a sharing of skills and knowledge. This is the cornerstone of good teaching practice and a key aspect of our philosophy in working with schools.
In 2021, on a national scale, we involved around 44,000 students and teachers in environment and sustainability projects. To do so, in the areas of Italy where we most extensively operate, we sought out the support of the AEM Foundation and the ASM Foundation, which have been active in this sphere for many years, providing lessons, events and workshops free of charge.
Guided tours of our operational facilities have always been highlights in our range of educational services, providing the added value that such experiences can give when studying environmental issues. We have, at last, been able to re-open our doors to visits by school and other groups. In addition to these resources available to all schools in Italy, teachers can also take advantage of the EDU TV digital channel, where they can find a wide range of interesting new material.
EDU TV
EDU TV, a web channel with digital teaching content
Exclusively for our teachers, we have created EDU TV, a multimedia communication channel providing digital teaching content that can be shared in the classroom, making lessons more interactive and more dynamic.
The special webinars, innovative multi-theme videos and other study material available can help teachers arouse the interest of their students in four areas: technology, sustainability, history and events.

Educational resources to become enablers of change
The educational resources that we have made available, including a range of publications, are easy to use, giving students the chance to create their own learning pathway, their own effective ‘made-to-measure’ education.
