"Last Call": the A2A and Feltrinelli Foundation Podcast on the commitment of new generations to climate justice

Answers and ideas to save the Planet

In recent years, the effects of climate change have raised awareness about the ongoing climate crisis and opened up discussion about the future of the planet, especially among young people.

We at A2A have always been attentive to issues of sustainability and environmental protection.

Today, with this new podcast produced together with Fondazione Giangiacomo Feltrinelli, we want to spread the concept of climate justice because we think it is essential to answer the last call of our Planet.

Over the course of the four episodes, we try to answer questions such as: "What are young people's concerns about the ecological transition?" or "What does it mean to engage in active citizenship?”

Olimpia Peroni and Matteo Mario interview young entrepreneurs and activists who have developed innovative ideas to preserve natural resources. At the centre of our stories are the four elements: air, water, earth and fire.

Episode 1

Air

The data on air pollution in many Italian cities is increasingly critical. Smog and low rainfall cause the fine dust limit to rise dangerously high. It is essential to take action to monitor and improve air quality, which is the goal of the start-up Wiseair, and to promote a new model of climate transition, as told by the experience of Clima3t, an association active at the University of Trento.

Episode 2

Water

Droughts, melting ice and rising sea levels are a global emergency. Sea creatures have to adapt to a changing scenario and survive the ingestion of microplastics, which then reach the table of those who consume fish as part of their diet. Thanks to the efforts of start-ups such as Blue Eco Line and Plastic Free, we can clean waterways of plastic waste. These stories teach us that each of us can make a difference in defending the ecosystem in which we live, through conscious choices and a proactive attitude.
