In a complex and uncertain context from a geopolitical, economic, social, climatic, viewpoint and in volatile energy scenario, we chose to put ESGs at the heart of a 2030 strategic plan based on two mainstays: the energy transition and the circular economy.
In order to face challenges at national level and to reach these goals, we can count on the singularity of a diversified and integrated business model and on a portfolio of assets along the entire value chain of energy, waste and water. The industrial synergies between these activities, which we are constantly renewing thanks to the transformation of skillsets and the reconversion and acquisition of infrastructures, make it possible for us to give life to a complete ecological transition.
In fact, we confirm our commitment to achieve zero direct and indirect emissions by the Group by 2040, ahead of the targets set at European level. Around 85% of investments are compatible with the SDGs and around 65% with the European taxonomy.
Our roadmap foresees the creation of sustainable long-term value for our investors, thanks also to our constructive engagement with the financial community, as well as with all of the Group’s other stakeholders. The constant involvement of the communities where we operate, with local and national institutions, with associations, customers, partners and all of our own workforce allows us to direct our investments as effectively as possible and thereby achieve the Plan’s targets.
For us, all of this means making the concept of Life Company concrete and fulfilling our ecological transition for the transformation of the areas where we operate, the nation itself, to ensure well-being today and a sustainable future for the generations to come.
Our strategic plan, for the first time a ten-year one, has proved and continues to prove to be well thought out and achievable even in a changing context. After the first two years, we have decided to update the plan to continue to guarantee the solidity of the Group. We face new challenges thanks to investments primarily focused on organic growth in domestic market, confirming Circular Economy and Energy Transitions as pillars of our strategy.
