The rationale behind our choices

Improving quality of life

We invest in energy infrastructure, networks and treatment plants to build for a better quality of life in the long term. Accessible energy for families, career opportunities for those entering the labour market, and territories able to manage resources more equitably.

Every time we plan an investment, design a training pathway or open a plant to schools, we are addressing a key question: who benefits from the ecological transition, and to what extent?

Areas of action

From Fondazione Banco dell’Energia to Green Jobs: towards a more inclusive transition

We act across different, complementary areas:

  • the skills of people contributing to the ecological transition
  • energy accessibility for those at risk of exclusion
  • relationships with the territories in which we operate
  • the ability of future generations to take part in change

Training and professional development

Internal Technical Academies, reskilling in areas undergoing transition, school-to-work pathways, and guidance towards Green Jobs.

Energy accessibility initiatives

Promoted through Fondazione Banco dell’Energia to support families in vulnerable situations, renewable PPAs for businesses, and energy efficiency solutions for those most exposed to price volatility.

Projects with future generations

Opening our plants to schools, science outreach programmes, workshops and digital content on sustainability culture, and the Gen Z Forum to foster dialogue between young people and the Group on ESG topics.

Dialogue with territories

Multi-stakeholder forums, 15 Territorial Sustainability Reports by 2026, thematic working groups, and the AEM, ASM and LGH Foundations to support shared choices with local communities.

From our customers to future generations

We focus on people, communities and future generations

Our choices affect territories and people, including future generations who will be impacted by the ecological transition.

Our people

Around 15,000 people contribute every day to the ecological transition. Their professional, economic and family wellbeing is a strategic priority.

Customers and communities

Businesses, families and territories have specific needs and different ways of innovating. Supporting the transition means starting from these differences and building solutions together with communities

Future generations

We invest in education, training and dialogue—not simply to explain sustainability, but to make it tangible and participatory for future generations.
