We are committed to listening to their needs, enhancing their diversity, engaging in dialogue with local areas and building new opportunities together.
As a Life Company, our mission is to take care of life in all its forms: people, our communities and the environment. We do this by providing essential services that support a sustainable transition and promote an inclusive environment.
Thanks to our Diversity, Equity & Inclusion policies, we contribute to:
We are committed to listening to their needs, enhancing their diversity, engaging in dialogue with local areas and building new opportunities together.
We want to gain a better understanding of the complexity of the world around us and put our purpose into practice: to improve people’s lives today and ensure a fairer and more sustainable future for the generations to come.
We combine environmental protection, social equity and inclusive development, by integrating different perspectives and planning innovative, sustainable and fair solutions for every person, today and tomorrow.
For us, caring for people also means developing talent, listening to people's needs and creating working environments where everyone can feel welcome, valued and free to realise their full potential.

As a Life Company, we put life and its quality at the centre of our commitment. And we do this first and foremost by taking care of our people, through concrete actions. We believe that diversity, equity and inclusion are a key factor in the Group's long-term growth and success. Protecting and promoting them is a distinctive feature of a company that is attentive, evolved and open to the future.
Our Group considers the diversity and uniqueness of all people to be fundamental values, to be recognised and translated into concrete actions at every level, inside and outside the company. These features not only enrich the working environment, but also represent a strategic advantage, because they encourage the continuous emergence of new ideas, innovative solutions and original contributions.
In line with the Code of Ethics, the Human Rights Policy and the principles of the Global Compact, the DE&I Commitment Statement is the founding document that testifies to the Group's desire to create an inclusive, respectful and ethical environment, free from stereotypes and any form of physical, verbal or digital abuse.
For us at A2A, it is of fundamental importance to prevent discrimination, foster inclusion, with a particular focus on those who are most vulnerable, and promote a meritocratic and inclusive corporate climate.
Our commitment to 2035 includes the following goals:
Gender balance in the Group’s boards of directors
Women in managerial positions
An inclusive language is a fundamental component of our corporate culture. In fact, we believe that words have the power to create welcoming environments and to strengthen collaboration between people, whilst enhancing them. That's why, through our Inclusive Language Manifesto, we encourage a respectful language, free from stereotypes, prejudices or discriminatory expressions, both in internal and external communication, and we promote the use of terms that reflect equality, diversity and the appreciation of individual identities.

Over 14,000 people at A2A bring our vision of inclusion and diversity to life every day. They are the beating heart of the transformation of our Group and, thanks to our commitment to the topics of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, we can create an environment in which each person has the opportunity to contribute, grow and feel part of a common project.
This commitment takes concrete form through the Inclusion Team, a large group of colleagues from different Business Units and regions, with different roles and levels of experience, which promotes initiatives aimed at enhancing the unique features of each person.
We focus on five areas: Cultures, Disability, Gender, LGBTQI+ and Generations. For each of these, we develop projects, events and training and awareness-raising courses that transform inclusion into a concrete, everyday experience, making each person feel like an integral part of our community.

The Social Transition Policy was created to support the journey undertaken by those members of our Group who do not identify with the gender assigned to them at birth. This policy aims to describe the initiatives undertaken by our Group to remove obstacles that may hinder social transition, making it easier for the corporate environment to recognise each person's perceived gender identity (gender of choice).
We enhance the uniqueness of all people, thereby creating a competitive advantage for our Group. We promote a working environment free from stereotypes and that allows each person to express their individuality.
