We at A2A have always been the leader in Italy in terms of energy produced from renewable sources and rank second in terms of our installed capacity from renewable sources.
The sun is the primary energy source ‘par excellence’. Its power is enormous, as a renewable source, inexhaustible, clean and with an impact on the environment equal to zero. The infrastructures that exploit the sun’s radiation are known as solar plants. Depending on the system used to harness this radiation, these plants may be thermal, if they transform the solar radiation into heat, or photovoltaic, if they transform the solar radiation into electrical energy.
In 2017, we decided to start drawing up an ambitious Business Plan to 2030 in order to
increase our commitment and respond to international targets in the battle against climate change, striving to safeguard the Planet.
Over the years, we have acquired various companies owning photovoltaic facilities: in 2021, a portfolio of 17 photovoltaic plants with a nominal power of 173 MW and already in grid parity and, in 2022, an overall power in wind and photovoltaic plants of 352 MW.
Our goal is an ambitious one: by 2030, we want to install new wind and photovoltaic plants with an overall capacity of 4,500 MW, in other words adding 500 MW a year in new renewable source facilities.
Our plants are present all over Italy, in particular in Sardinia and Lazio.
